the Start-Up

In 1984, two brothers started a small business under the name ‘BRIGHT BROTHERS’ with the objective of servicing and repairing refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.

BRIGHT BROTHERS pioneered in the field of refrigeration and air-conditioning in the Maldives, making chest freezers, display chillers and walk-in freezer containers. Within a short period the company took a leading role in the country to provide refrigeration and air- conditioning service-on-demand. By 1987, our employees grew in number and this prompted the brothers to officially register the company in 1990.

Expands

The following year, BRIGHT BROTHERS laid the foundation stone for their new multi-storey building providing all work facilities for refrigeration and air-conditioning services under one roof.

Some key services provided by the workshop include:

• Cooling load calculation and design of air-conditioning systems.
• Supply of all types of air-conditioners.
• Installation and commissioning of air-conditioning systems.
• After sales service, preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Supply and installation of pre-fabricated reefer containers.

In 1997, the company changed from a partnership to a limited liability company, acquiring the name ‘BRIGHT BROTHERS PRIVATE LIMITED’.

In early 2000, the company began exploring a new way to expand its growing interest in supplying consumer products. As a result, in 2001, SHOWCASE was opened in Male’, which offered a dynamic product range that included household and kitchenware. The following year a second SHOWCASE was opened in Male’. The continued success gave the company the confidence to boldly embark on a far more ambitious project – the AGORA supermarket chain.
